Barcelona also has its own distinct pavement. The Catalan capital has no less than five different types of paving stones from the Modernisme period. The flowery paving stone pictured here is the most famous one. Barcelona’s paving stones are also called ‘panots’ and are made of cement, sand and water. Almost a hundred years later you can still walk on these five different paving stones.
